Nice idea! Pretty interesting mechanic, though it's a bit confusing at first XD I agree that you need to add a little bit more details to the rooms so they don't look all the same... You can get lost quite fast, though I guess that's the idea, meow. I liked the tunneling mechanic, quite fun to play around at the end, hehe. Meow!
Getting lost and having generic looking rooms is a common theme in all of the feedback that I've been getting so those will definitely be addressed in later versions of the game. Thank you for your input!
Cool idea! I think I got the Macguffium (it was the green bottle, right?)
I really like the atmosphere you set up. The color palette and music give this sense of urgent sleuthing. I think there's potential in the idea if you decide to build on it.
If you do decide to continue, here's just a few notes to consider:
Every time I tunneled it was in the direction I was walking. You could just make space do the tunneling. Or develop scenarios where the player has to walk one direction and then tunnel in another.
There are a lot of rooms to pass through and at some point I wasn't sure if I was making forward progress or back-tracking. Distinct landmarks every couple of rooms might help but I'm sure there are other ways you could solve that too.
thank you! Yes the green bottle was the Macguffium. I'll most likely keep working on it in some form or another and probably work a bit more on level design.
Hey, I would love to play your game, but when I try to start the exe, I get the error "Error: Could not load game data at path '.'. Is the .pck file missing?". Did you forget to upload some files or am I doing something wrong?
Ok, great that you got it fixed. I played your game for a while now and first of all: Both the visuals and the music are quite cool, even tho a few environment animations would have been cool to make it feel a bit more alive. The 2D lighting/Shadows and the black and white already achieve a great atmosphere tho!
I also quite like the general idea of making a puzzle game with quantum tunneling as the main mechanic. However, I think the gameplay needs some more depth. Maybe some sort of hints or a mechanic to mark the path you have taken. Another cool thing might be speech bubbles with your character saying some minor hints or jokes. While there always is room for improvement, I think you did quite well for the limited time of the jam and I hope you had fun creating it.
I was actually going to add speech bubbles or recorded dialogue to add diversity to the rooms and to hide Easter eggs but that was lower on my priorities and I had like an hour until the deadline when I got around to it. I'll definitely add such a system in a later build! Thank you for the feedback!

Great job!

Hey SixteenByNein! I'm here as part of the Comment Pact Club! Looking forward to the next build of the game. :)
The game is uploaded correctly now

yeah, I realized I'd messed that up just recently. I'll try and fix it.
That's unfortunate. I'm looking forward to seeing what you made when you got it fixed. :)
thanks!
